Reinventing energy purchasing: new perspectives after the crisis

On July 2, Paul Ravetto, managing partner at Ravetto Associés, took part in the Europ’énergies 2024 Forum. As moderator, Paul Ravetto led the plenary discussion on “Energy purchasing after the crisis” which brought together speakers from CRE (French Energy Regulatory Commission), EDF, UNIDEN, Alpiq, Greensolver, SIEEN, SNCF, and Vattenfall.

The discussions focus on the following topics:

  • What does post-ARENH regulation look like in France?
  • From the suppliers’ perspective: how can competition be maintained? What are the impacts on the wholesale and retail markets? How are new offers (CFDs, P-BPAs, short supply chains, etc.) changing the structure of the energy market?
  • On the buyer perspective: which strategies should be adopted for purchasing before and after 2026? How is the natural gas market evolving? How can purchasing strategies be adapted?

The Europ’énergies Forum is an annual event brings together French-speaking buyers, suppliers, experts, and institutions to discuss, share, and find solutions in the field of energy. The theme of the 2024 edition was: “Opening up new perspectives – Focus on decarbonization in a new regulatory framework.”
